Adventures in App Prototyping

User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design is a fast developing industry as the mobile app market contributes to quickly grow. Software programs such as Adobe DX and Sketch allow designers to efficiently prototype apps for client approval before sending it off to developers.

To better understand the technology and theory involved in app design, I spent several days watching Lynda.com and Skillshare tutorials, and reading articles from AIGA. Once I had learned the basics, I began creating my first app prototype in Adobe DX. Since I'm a horticultural enthusiast, I chose to design a cactus and succulent encyclopedia called 'Cactus Collector.'

Overall, the experience was rewarding. I'm excited to turn this project into an inclass exercise for Interactive Design II at Parkland College.
