Once a year, artists around CU create original works of art to be sold at 40 North's annual fundraiser gala 'Untitled'. When Kelly White personally requested a piece, I couldn't say 'no.'
Inspired by Beatrix Potter's work, my goal was to create something cute and approachable. Admittedly, I was a bit nervous about the project. It had been nearly 8 months since I've picked up a paintbrush. During the school year, most of my creative work involves moving pixels around a screen.
Thankfully, it only took a few minutes of practice to refamiliarize myself with the tools. The next two days were spent blissfully painting away on my drafting table. The result is a small 6"x6" watercolor ready for sale at the gala.
